Hello *|FNAME|*,

October was Cyber Security Awareness Month and while the month has ended you shouldn't forget about security. If you need help to improve your security let me know.

Christmas will be here shortly, over the holiday period we will have lower staffing, telco companies have embargos and stock can be hard to source. Thus if you have any plans or changes coming up over the next few months, please let us know ASAP.

As you may have heard, the NBN is increasing their speeds in more areas now (upgrading from FTTN to FTTP or in simple terms upgrading to fibre), but one thing some user tend to overlook is if their current firewall and network equipment will cope with the increase in speeds. If you are thinking of upgrading let us know and we can let you know if you need any equipment replaced.

Stay cyber safe and catch you next month,
David Perkovic

Out and About

Here are some of the things we have been up to in September:

  • David and Zee attended the annual SMBiT Professionals conference in Melbourne. David is also back in Melbourne at the end of November for a cybersecurity conference.
  • A few of the techs participated in the Seaford Rotary Seaside Walk to help raise awareness and prevention of suicide.
  • Neil and Fahim were updating the point of sale systems in a few stores around Sydney.
  • Paul and our data cabler Ben enjoyed the views while doing some networking in the scenic McLaren Vale wine region.
  • Stefan and Paul presented on the latest in network security to the Adelaide Chapter of the SMBiT Professionals group.
  • Bevin and Stefan installed some new servers at a data centre in Adelaide.
  • Bevin and Sean also setup some new servers at another data centre in Adelaide.

David had the pleasure of attending and helping to organise the SMBiT Professionals 2024 National Conference in Melbourne.

The conference was for IT professionals and David also brought along one of our SA techs, Zeeshan. It was fantastic to reconnect with fellow IT professionals, share stories, and learn from world-class presenters.

To help support the local community, a few of the techs and their families participated in the Seaford Rotary Seaside Walk. The aim of the walk was to help raise awareness and prevention of suicide in southern Adelaide.

Neil and Fahim were updating the point of sale systems in a few stores around Sydney.

Bevin and Stefan installed some new servers at a data centre in Adelaide.

Not to be outdone Sean and Bevin installed 9 new HPE servers over the last few days at another data centre in Adelaide.
